How paddy may move through a rice-milling system.
Rice mills can use one-step, two-step or multi-stage systems. The sequence below explains a typical commercial flow and does not claim that every stage or machine is used at Sudha Rice & Seeds.
From paddy to separated outputs
1. Receipt and pre-cleaning
A typical system first removes foreign material and unsuitable matter before the main milling stages.
2. Husking
The outer husk is separated from paddy, leaving brown rice as an intermediate output in multi-stage systems.
3. Whitening or polishing
Part or most of the bran layer is removed to produce white or milled rice, with bran and polish as outputs.
4. Sifting and grading
Whole kernels and different broken fractions may be separated according to the equipment and target specification.
5. Storage and supply preparation
Product identity, condition and buyer requirements should remain clear before commercial supply.
The actual sequence, equipment, checks and output mix at Sudha Rice & Seeds remain owner-controlled fields and will be described as mill operations only after confirmation.
Why results vary
- Paddy variety and grain condition
- Moisture and storage history
- Processing method
- Milling and grading configuration
- Degree of whitening or polishing
- Target buyer specification
Educational basis
The general process explanation follows rice-milling guidance from the International Rice Research Institute. It is separated from claims about the actual Sudha Rice & Seeds operation.
